Khan el-Khalili market is a traditional market in the heart of Cairo, with a hundred kiosks that sell all gifts at cheaper prices instead of in the store.
We visit at noon when the sun is on the top of our heads, which is what we think is not the best time to visit this market, late afternoon should be OK.
Yet we met an old cafe called’ Umm Kulthu Cafe’ & Restaurant for coffee and drinks, it was an oase in the center of this market, it was since early 19’s and still stands, interior like a museum full of historical pictures.
We only booked a tour with a driver, to ease our time.. driver named Islam is punctual and on time, thanks to the tour company who arranged us.

Guide did an amazing job. The tour that we took to the market was in depth. He provided so much historical information and background knowledge about Egypt and Cario. He even haggled on my behalf at some of the shops. This experience would have not been the same without him. When I return to Egypt, I will definitely be coming back for another of his tours and will recommend him to all of my friends. You can tell that he is passionate about this work. The transportation was clean, safe and prompt.
